Sunday 1st July 2012 will see the 4th Liverpool Triathlon take to the city's streets with over 1500 athletes expected to participate. As part of the prestigious global 5150 series, Liverpool joins the likes of New York, Miami and Zurich as one of the top races for age group athletes. Again this year the top age groupers will have the chance to qualifiy for the Hy-Vee 5150 Championships in Des Moines USA which offers one of the best Pros fields in the world alongside highly competitive age group racing.
Liverpool Triathlon isn't just for elite athletes, the event will continue to draw first time athletes to the sport of triathlon as it provides the highest standards of event management along with a closed road cycle course. With the 5150 distance (1.5km swim, 40km bike and 10km run) being the largest entry we still offer Sprint (750m swim, 20km bike and 5km run) and SuperSprint (400m swim, 10km bike and 5km run) and team relay races for those who want to ease more gently into the sport.
The Liverpool Triathlon team will also support the novice athletes preparation with tips, advice and training events in the build up to the race, to make sure that everyone is prepared for the challenge come race day.
